Pearl Drape

Description

Pearl Drape is the most distinctive cut in the collection. Rather than falling straight, the front layer crosses and drapes diagonally across the body, so it reads much like a saree — an unusual, softly wrapped line that sets it apart from a conventional abaya while keeping full coverage. It is made from a finely pleated white crepe, the narrow vertical pintucks helping the fabric hold that drape. The colour is kept pure and quiet so the handwork can speak: wide turn-back cuffs are packed with tiny beaded rosettes in red, green, blue and purple, scattered through with pearl and glass seed beads, and the same beading runs as a fine trim down the front opening. Completed by a matching scarf and niqab.

Care

Dry cleaning is recommended. If hand-washing, use cold water with a mild detergent and do not wring. Cool iron on the reverse only. Handle the beaded and sequinned areas gently — avoid rubbing them, and never iron directly over beads, stones or sequins. Store on a padded hanger.
